83rd Infantry Division Campaign Map
This campaign map shows the route of the 83rd Infantry Division throughout Europe during World War II. The division fought in the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe campaigns.
After Brittany, the 83rd screened along the Loire and then shifted east to the Moselle and Sauer. It fought near Grevenmacher, Echternach, and the West Wall before being pulled into the winter battles connected to the Ardennes. In late 1944 and early 1945, the division fought in the Roer and Rochefort sectors, then helped reduce the German salient as the front stabilized.
